What is your connection to Tübingen, Nan?
I was a postdoc with Prof. Bob Williamson from 2022 to 2025. Back then I worked on the data-centric perspective of machine learning, studying how different types of data corruption affect learning processes in general.
Is there a memory from your time here that had a lasting positive impact on you?
What I appreciated most during my time in Tübingen was the dialogue-driven research environment and the many open-ended discussions with brilliant and inspiring colleagues. I learned the importance of asking good questions, which often lead to deeper and more fruitful scientific insights than focusing solely on solutions.
My experience in Tübingen has strongly shaped my approach to both research and teaching, and I strive to foster the same dialogue-driven and question-motivated environment that I valued so much there.

Since then, I have taken on a Lecturer in AI position at the University of Bristol, UK. My experience in Tübingen has strongly shaped my approach to both research and teaching, and I strive to foster the same dialogue-driven and question-motivated environment that I valued so much there.
