Engelbert Beyer and Christian Berghoff from the Department ‘Technological Sovereignty and Innovation’ at the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), as well as André Schmandke und Jörg Hilpert from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts (MWK) visited the Tübingen AI Center on March 24, 2026.
Together with Matthias Bethge, Philipp Hennig, Judith Lam, Katja Schenke-Layland (Vice-President for Research, Innovation, and Transfer at Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) and colleagues, we had the opportunity to present selected areas of our research.
Following an introduction to the Tübingen AI Center and ELLIS by Matthias Bethge, Auguste Schulz and Andreas Geiger gave insights into their work in education and autonomous vision, respectively. Philipp Hennig concluded the talks with an outlook.
In the ensuing discussion, we reaffirmed our commitment to creating and maintaining a collaborative ecosystem that promotes excellent foundational research and impactful technology transfer.
